GREENSBORO, NC – A man wanted for murders in two North Carolina cities has been arrested, police said Thursday afternoon.
Authorities said Malek Moore was arrested around 1:35 p.m. on East Market Street in Greensboro. Police said Moore would be held without bail at Guilford County Jail.
A press release from the Greensboro Police Department says Moore, 29, was wanted for first degree murder in connection with the death of Christian Mbimba, 21, of Nashville, Tennessee, on September 3 in Greensboro. Police found Mbimba’s body on the street.
Moore was also wanted for first degree murder in the murder of Gabryelle Allnutt, a 29-year-old artist who recently traveled to Charlotte to escape Hurricane Ida, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.
“Frankly, Moore is just a danger to the public right now,” police said in a statement ahead of his arrest.
Moore is suspected of committing other crimes in Charlotte, including an assault on a greenway.
In addition to the murder charges, investigators said Moore was wanted on kidnapping, burglary, theft and break and enter.
