A tropical rainstorm will push ashore in South Texas

causing very heavy rain and thunderstorms today. This

system will produce several inches of rain for some areas,

which will be beneficial, but may allow the risk of

flash floods too. Additional storms will also form

along the Gulf Coast, some of which could also be heavy.

Further heavy showers and thunderstorms will develop during the

Rocky Mountains in the afternoon. Some of these storms could

lead to flash floods. Another system moving through the

The Great Lakes in the Ohio Valley will spread some showers

and northern Michigan thunderstorms from south to west

Virginia and even North Carolina later in the

afternoon. A few showers are likely to develop in Maine.
