October looked more like a mid-southern weather at this point

(WKBN) – It has been a very hot month so far. On Wednesday morning, our average temperature is 66.5 ° F. That’s 11.0 ° F above average for a typical October.

Today marked the 13th day in a row at 70 ° F or above. We were as high as 81 ° F on October 6th at the Youngstown / Warren Regional Airport. Our coolest temperature was 41 ° F on October 1 to kick off the month.

To put our warm weather into perspective, our weather is more like North Carolina than Northeast Ohio this month! We live in a North Carolina October here in northeastern Ohio and northwestern Pennsylvania. The warm air that we have experienced is more like an area 400 miles to the south.

Wednesday morning we are tied with 2018 for the hottest October on record on that date.

We have a cooler trend on the way at the end of the weekend. It will at least bring our temperatures closer to normal to start next week.

Our average high so far this month is 75.8 ° F and our average low is 56.9 ° F.

This week, on average, a high will be somewhere between the mid to low 60s for highs, then the mid and low 40s for lows. We’ll see how the second half of the month unfolds so we know where we stand in the list of the hottest October months on record.
