PA weather: Historic heat, strong winds with a wild week on tap

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The abrupt change in weather patterns in southeastern Pennsylvania this week could bring record-breaking heat to the region, as a wild and eerie winter takes its final dramatic spin.

The current high predicted for Thursday in Philadelphia is 64 degrees, just four degrees lower than the all-time high of 68 degrees set in 1976, according to AccuWeather. Records will be threatened across the region as the warm front challenges historic highs everywhere from Raleigh, North Carolina, to Boston.

In the greater Philadelphia area, the warm front will lead to a powerful storm front beginning Thursday. Rain is possible during the day, with gusty winds starting at around 10 miles per hour and creeping up to 30 miles per hour.
