RICHMOND, Va. – A shower or isolated thunderstorm will be possible this evening, but most areas will remain calm, with warm and humid conditions overnight. Friday will be another hot and humid day, and another heat advisory will likely be issued. There will be a better chance of a few scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening as a cold front moves in from the west.
This front will be near the North Carolina border this weekend. It will be a little less humid and cooler with highs in the 80s. A few showers are possible Saturday, with the best chance in far southern Virginia. There’s a better chance of showers and scattered thunderstorms on Sunday, but these won’t impact much of the region.
A few showers and thunderstorms will be present on Monday with highs in the 80s.
Another period of hot and humid weather is forecast for next week with highs in the 90s from Tuesday. The long-term pattern points to triple-digit and near-record heat potential next weekend.
The Atlantic Basin remains very calm, with no active storms or significant disturbances.
