These North Carolina Cities Are Some of America’s Happiest


There are many beautiful places to live in the country, but some cities may be happier overall than others due to various factors: entertainment, family and friends, or even work.

WalletHub recently published its findings on America’s Happiest Cities. After comparing over 180 cities, it turns out that several in North Carolina made the cut.

Here is where six North Carolina city ranking among the happiest in the country.

  • # 32: Raleigh
  • # 39: Durham
  • # 67: Charlotte
  • N ° 127: Winston-Salem
  • # 132: Greensboro
  • # 174: Fayetteville

While Raleigh, Durham and Charlotte topped the list, receiving higher marks in various factors, the other cities were less fortunate. All three ended up in the bottom half of the list. Fayetteville, who ranks in the bottom 10 on the list, is tied at 180 for most hours worked but has the second lowest income growth.

To determine the list, WalletHub compared 182 cities based on three factors: emotional and physical well-being, income and employment, and community and environment. From there, the factors were assessed using 31 relevant measures, including life satisfaction, depression rate, physical health index, life expectancy, food insecurity rate, poverty rate, job security, separation and divorce rate, ideal weather, etc.
